Piloting the Endeavour
I had the incredible opportunity of going to Honeywell Space Camp this summer.
I met some great people on Team Exploration. We were well represented from
Chile, South Africa, United Kingdom, Arkansas, Michigan, South Carolina, Arizona,
Romania, Ohio, North Carolina, West Virginia, and of course-Michigan.
Team Endeavour

We had an exciting week of fun filled space theme activities. We met Story Musgrove, the astronaut who has completed a mission on each shuttle. We took a trip to Tennessee to meet Homer Hickom, the author of Rocket Boys, which was later made into a movie called October Sky. We even spent time with Ed Buckbee and received and autograph copy of his book.

The most fun was the simulated space shuttle missions. I was lucky enough to serve as Mission Control CAPCOM officer for the space shuttle Discovery and then pilot the Endeavour. I am so excited about the Aug 7th mission of the Endeavour with teacher Barbara Morgan on it because I actually flew the same mission. I feel interlocked indeed.

We also participated in the aviation challenge where we we helicopter lifted from the water.

I would recommend for any one to apply for this incredible opportunity. Applications open up in September. Look for Honeywell Educators at Space Academy
