Teacher to Teacher Workshops

I have been lucky enough to attend the Teacher to Teacher workshops in the Detroit area for the past
two years. Last year the workshops focused on literacy and helping students who have English as a Second language.
I left completely motivated and with numerous techniques I could use right away. Plus powerful motivation from the
speakers chosen.
This year I not only left with motivation- I
1) Got a tour of the GM Research and Development Center (I’ve always wanted to know what was inside of that
unique building)
2) Heard speakers from GM Vice President of Research and Development and President of Educational Resources
3) Left with an actual Hydrogen Fuel cell and the opportunity to use these fuel cells in my classroom to
build mini cars. I am so thrilled!!
I have had this mini fuel cell on my dining room table for a week now and every one that comes over wants a lesson.
My children, their friends, my neighbors, relatives- this is completely fascinating stuff.
The Teacher to Teacher website is also a plethora of information. If you didn’t attend the lectures, powerpoints, and handouts are all available at the click of a mouse!
